The First Piece

I've never refinished a piece of furniture before, so I took this lingerie chest that had been my grandmother's and made it my own.  I think it turned out pretty great.

Here it is as it was given to me (except it had the bottom drawer, I just started painting and forgot to take a before picture!)

And here's the first step, all grey.

A little blah...

Once I had this part finished I thought I was done, and ordered black drawer pulls to go with it.  Then one night as I was lying awake in bed, I had an idea.  And this is how I finished it:

Purple fade with brushed nickle handles & knobs

Not bad for a first try, and I can't wait to put it in our bedroom!
